    How to vote on the Internet

    In order to vote on the Internet, you must have an ID-card with valid certificates and PIN codes.


    You can vote on the Internet from every computer which has:

    Short overview of the election procedure

    Before voting please make sure that your ID-card is in the chip card reader and you have the PIN1 and PIN2 codes at hand. Voting will proceed as follows:

    • www.valimised.ee click the button "Vote here" (Hääleta siin).
    • Your PIN1 is asked for personal identification.
    • If you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems in a non-administrative capacity (Active X is not allowed), you will be asked to download and start the voter application EXE version. Otherwise the voter application will load automatically.
      Similarly,if you are using Linuxi or Mac OS X operating systems you will be asked to download and start the voter application.
    • If you have the right to vote, the system will display a web page with the names of candidating parties and independent candidates.
    • Choose a candidate.
    • Confirm the choice by signing it digitally with a PIN2 code, as requested.

    You have the opportunity to change your electronic vote by voting again. Only the last vote cast will count.

    You can annul the electronic vote by voting in a polling station during the advance poll.
