Local elections are held today

Today, the local government council is elected in 79 local governments. All the polling stations are open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Voting is possible only in the polling division of the voter’s residence.

The voter must present an identity document, such as their passport, ID-card, driver’s licence, or pension certificate. It is not necessary to bring along their voter card. It is also important to note that e-votes cannot be changed on the day of elections.

Due to a poor state of health or for another valid reason, a voter can vote at home. A relevant request must be submitted to the division committee in writing, or a ballot box can be requested by telephone no later than by 2 p.m. today for home voting.

27.8 % of the voters took part in the advance poll of local government council elections; 186,034 voted electronically, and 120,474 voted in a polling station.
